Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Depart North America
Depart from North America aboard Virgin Australia to begin your exciting adventure to Australia
Day 2: Cross International Dateline
You will cross the International Dateline today and ‘lose a day’, but don’t worry , this will be regained on your journey home
Day 3: Arrive Sydney
On arrival in Sydney you will need to make your way to your hotel. Goway can assist with prebooking transfers throughout your vacationif required (additional charge applies). The remainder of your day is at leisure. Nature blessed Sydney with one of most idyllic settings in the world which is reflected in its large eye-appealing harbour and excellent beaches. This cosmopolitan city is not only scenically beautiful but, like most major cities, has an abundance of culture, history and venues to keep any visitor occupied for several days.
Day 4: Sydney Harbour Morning Tea Cruise
Begin your day with a sensational morning tea cruise. A unique, Sydney Harbour Highlights two hour cruise experience. Enjoy the company of a small group aboard a 52 foot motor yacht. Your personal captain & host will share the rich history of Sydney Harbour and its foreshore as you take in the sites of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and the bays and coves of Sydney Harbour. Enjoy a light morning tea with coffee, tea, juice, water and 5-star service. The remainder of the day is free.
Days 5 - 6: Sydney at Leisure
These days are free to explore Sydney. We have included in your vacation an I-Venture Sydney Attraction Pass, that includes entry to 5 top attractions in Sydney. Some of the attractions include a hop on hop off Sydney sightseeing tour, entry to Taronga Zoo, a Sydney Opera House tour, entry to Madame Tussauds, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium or Wild Life Sydney Zoo. Day 7: Depart Sydney for Cairns
Make your way to the airport for your flight to Tropical North Queensland. On arrival make your way to your Cairns hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Nestled between the Great Barrier Reef and the lush, tropical rainforest of North Queensland, Cairns is your ideal base for exploring.
Days 8: Great Barrier Reef Cruise
A full day cruise to Michaelmas Cay for snorkelling, diving and sailing on Australia's magnificent Great Barrier Reef. Set sail aboard Ocean Spirit's five star catamaran and enjoy a reef experience like no other. Your tour includes: four full hours on the reef, morning refreshments, superb hot and cold buffet with seafood, afternoon tea, snorkelling demonstrations and tuition plus use of all snorkelling equipment, use of flotation vests, informative ecological presentations by a qualified marine biologists, coral viewing on a glass bottom boat, guided bird tours, musical entertainment on the homeward sail to Cairns and a high crew to guest ratio (1:9).
Days 9-10: Cairns at Leisure
Cairns is a small city in the tropical north of Queensland and is best known as the Gateway to Great Barrier Reef, one of Australia’s most popular destinations. From Cairns, there is easy access to rainforests, tropical islands, reefs and mountains. Not far away, you can enjoy world-class diving or snorkeling getting close to schools of tropical fish and abundant marine life.
In the city itself, go for a stroll along the Promenade and discover the very large saltwater lagoon in the centre of the city.
Hop on the century old scenic train to the rainforest village of Kuranda, famous for its markets, and experience an aboriginal “dream-time” walk and cultural performance. Cairns is also a great place to go walking as there are nearly 200 walking tracks around the city.
To the north of the city are a number of excellent beaches perfect for swimming and snorkeling and, why not travel to the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest surviving tropical rainforest. Where you can either simply relax or experience a unique rainforest tour.
Day 11: Depart Cairns for North America
Make your way to the airport today for your flight back to North America.
