Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Depart North America
Depart from North America aboard Virgin Australia to begin your exciting adventure to Australia
Day 2: Cross International Dateline
You will cross the International Dateline today and ‘lose a day’, but don’t worry , this will be regained on your journey home.
Day 3: Arrive Sydney
On arrival in Sydney you will need to make your way to your hotel. Goway can assist with prebooking transfers throughout your vacation if required (additional charge applies). The remainder of your day is at leisure. Nature blessed Sydney with one of most idyllic settings in the world which is reflected in its large eye-appealing harbour and excellent beaches. This cosmopolitan city is not only scenically beautiful but, like most major cities, has an abundance of culture, history and venues to keep any visitor occupied for several days.
Day 4-6: Sydney at Leisure
These days are free to explore Sydney. We have included in your vacation an I-Venture Sydney Attraction Pass that includes entry to 5 top attractions in Sydney and also later in Melbourne. Some of the attractions include a hop on hop off Sydney sightseeing tour, entry to Taronga Zoo, a Sydney Opera House tour, entry to Madame Tussauds, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium or Wild Life Sydney Zoo. Days 7: Depart Sydney for Melbourne
Please make your way to the airport for your flight to Melbourne. On arrival you will be need to make your way to your Melbourne hotel. Melbourne, Australia’s second largest city, is stylish and cosmopolitan. It has been voted by The Economist as the “World’s most Livable City”. Part of this is the abundance of parks and gardens. The capital of Victoria, it is situated on an estuary of the Yarra River and boasts world-class culture, sports and dining.
Day 8-9: At leisure in Melbourne
These days are free to explore Melbourne. Federation Square is the perfect starting point, a major meeting place with its exhibitions, restaurants, bars and shopping. To see Melbourne from a different perspective, visit the Eureka Skydeck in the Eureka Tower (included in the I-Venture Pass) for stunning views of the city’s heritage buildings especially when lit up after dark.
A new development is the restored Docklands where one can enjoy award-winning restaurants and stylish bars and cafes. For something different, head to St. Kilda’s or Fitzroy, colourful neighbourhoods with characters of their own. St. Kilda’s has its own beachfront and is home to Luna Park, the renowned amusement park.
Outside of Melbourne, one not to be missed excursion (additional cost) is to Phillip Island to see the penguin colonies living in their natural habitat. Another is to the Yarra Valley famous for its wineries and rainforests. Other worthwhile places to visit are Ballarat, a small city, once famous as the centre of the gold rush and Geelong, with its beautiful surf beaches and spectacular views of the Great Ocean Road and the unique rock formation, the Twelve Apostles.
