About this Trip
This 10-day Australian vacation takes you to Sydney and Port Douglas to savour two of Australia’s greatest icons. It features economy, moderate, or first-class accommodations depending on your preference, international airfare, shared and independent tours, and makes for a great first trip to Australia.
Your journey begins with a flight across the Pacific Ocean on route to Sydney. Once you arrive in Sydney, you’ll have the rest of the day to get acquainted with Australia’s largest city and the home to one of the most beautiful harbours on the planet. Spend a full exploring the city at leisure. You can tour on your own, heading to popular sights like the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and The Rocks neighbourhood, or you can join one of Goway’s guided sightseeing tours or harbour cruises to see the city in the company of an expert. No matter what you do, be sure to get a taste for the city’s nightlife and celebrated dining scene.
From Sydney, fly to Cairns in the north of Queensland and transfer to Port Douglas, a popular resort getaway located on Four Mile Beach. Port Douglas is a convenient gateway to both the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. It’s also one of the loveliest spots in Australia. Take a full day to cruise out to the Outer Great Barrier Reef with Quicksilver. Explore the continental shelf and coral gardens at Agincourt Reef. Dive, snorkel, or take a semi-sub out to see the wonders of this underwater world or splurge on a helicopter ride high above the waters to see it from the sky. Then return to Port Douglas for another day at leisure to take full advantage of the sandy beaches and warm weather.
