Highlights

Your stay begins with a visit to the renowned Grand Palace, the former residence of Thai kings. In this complex, you will be able to relive the splendour and pageantry of the past. A highlight will be the impressive Emerald Buddha. After this, continue to Wat Po, one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok where the large Reclining Buddha is housed. In the evening, you will have an enjoyable cruise on the Chao Phraya River which traverses the city with spectacular sights to be experienced on both banks including the Temple of Dawn, the Grand Palace and many other interesting landmarks. During the cruise, Thai delicacies will be served.

The following morning, head outside the city to Damnoen Saduak to see the colourful floating market where the customers travel in their boats to the merchants who are lined up on the sides of the canals selling their wares. Also visit the tallest Buddha pagoda in the world, the Phra Pathom Chedi. After lunch at the nearby Rose Garden, you will be entertained by a Thai cultural show including music, singing and the martial arts. Return later back to Bangkok.

Chiang Mai is the principal city in the north surrounded by the highest mountains in the country and here the atmosphere is much more serene than Bangkok. It has a wall surrounding the old part of the city and also has over 300 temples. Chiang Mai, "The Rose of the North", is famous for its history, culture, ancient temples, lush hills, shopping and fascinating tribal people.

During your stay, visit the Wat Chiang Man Temple, the oldest in the city built in the 13th Century with its two statues of Buddha, one of which is made of crystal, the Wat Phra Singh, built in Northern Thai classical style with its exquisite wood carvings and the Wat Chedi Luang with its Lama style chedi (a conical shaped stupa). The last temple to be visited is the Wat Suan Dok built in the 14th Century and one of the most famous for Monk studies. After this, head to the Varoros Market, the expansive market where you can buy almost anything. The afternoon is free to explore further, shop etc.

The next morning, travel outside the city to Doi Suthep, a temple built on top of a mountain with amazing views of the surrounding countryside and even Chiang Mai in the distance. After this, visit a hill tribe village and meet the Hmong tribe close up with their colourful ethnic outfits and special way of life.

Fly the next day to the south of Thailand to the beach resort of Ko Samui, your home for the next 3 nights. Ko Samui is the third largest island in Thailand measuring 25 kilometres/15 miles long by 21 kilometres/13 miles wide. It is an island of natural beauty offering white sand, coral reefs and many coconut palms. There are several beach areas from which to choose. The best known are Chaweng (most developed with good nightlife), Lamai (similar to Chaweng), Bophut (laid-back with its colourful fisher’s village) and Mae Nam (scenically beautiful).

The day after arrival, travel by boat to AngThonNational Parknorth west of Ko Samui It is a marine park consisting of 40 plus islands all different in size and shape of which only two are inhabited. Experience caves, hidden lagoons, steep limestone cliffs and white sand beaches. Arrive on the main island of Wau Ta Lab where your time is your own to explore, swim, snorkel or just relax. After lunch on board, head to Mae Ko Island which is stunningly beautiful.

Highlights

This 8-day Thai vacation takes you to Bangkok and Chiang Mai to experience the best of the country and relax, rejuvenate, and refresh yourself. It includes first-class or deluxe accommodations depending on preference, international airfare, private tours, and is perfect for solo travellers.

Your Thailand Unplugged trip takes you across the Pacific Ocean to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and the most-visited city on the planet. It won’t take long to notice Bangkok’s stunning contrasts. Massive skyscrapers sit beside wooden huts; luxury malls jostle for baht alongside bustling farmers’ markets—no one side of Bangkok is quintessential. It takes both the big and small, rich and modest, to capture what makes Bangkok so invigorating. On your first day in the city, head to the Blue Elephant Cooking School to learn to make delicious Thai dishes. The next day, head off the tourist trail on a bike tour across the city. Discover hidden temples, travel along the canal, and stop off at flower farms to learn about some of Thailand’s oldest traditions. Spend the rest of your time in Bangkok seeing the famous landmarks like Wat Arun, Wat Phra Kaew, and the Grand Palace, former home of the King of Thailand.

From Bangkok, connect north to Chiang Mai, the country’s unofficial northern capital. Unlike Bangkok, Chiang Mai is relatively quiet and temperate. However, despite its size, it’s no second fiddle to Bangkok in terms of food and culture. An evening tour through the Chang Phuak Gate Market will introduce you to the wonderful flavours of Northern Thai cooking as you stop at local restaurants and stalls and explore the famous Night Bazaar. The next day, enjoy a bike tour through the city to see the highlights of the former capital of the Lanna Kingdom. You’ll visit temples and factories, see a school for monks, journey along the Ping River, and enjoy the incredible flavours of khao soi at a local restaurant. You’ll have another day in Chiang Mai at leisure to see the highlights you missed, whether that means heading into the nearby rainforest to see elephants and waterfalls or visiting popular temples like Wat Prathat Doi Suthep.

At the end of your journey, connect to the airport to head back home.

Highlights

The best way to experience the beautiful southern beaches of Thailand is to island hop!  This travel idea connects three unique islands: Phuket, Thailand's largest island known as the “pearl of the Andaman,” Phi Phi, home to colourful marine life and vivid turquoise waters, and Krabi, with its dramatic limestone karsts, popular with rock climbers and honeymooners. Select your preferred level of accommodation and spend 10 days in paradise - with all transfers and ferries arranged in between.  If variety is the spice of life, then this island-hopping itinerary is the perfect recipe to spice it up!

Only 45 minutes away from Phuket by boat, the Phi Phi Islands are a paradise with white sand beaches being lapped by a green blue sea. There are 6 islands of which only two are of interest, namely Phi Phi Don which is the largest and Phi Phi Lei, the island on which the movie, “The Beach’ was made in 2000.

As you approach the islands by boat, they suddenly rise up out of the sea and you are aware of sheer towering cliffs after which you then are confronted with beach-fronted jungle. The islands are much quieter and more laid back than resorts such as Phuket. For example, the best way to get around is either on foot or by long-tailed boat. Because of the abundance of coral and marine life, it’s no wonder scuba diving and snorkeling are extremely popular as are kayaking and other watersports.

Krabi is situated on the west coast of southern Thailand approximately one hour’s drive from Phuket. It is a fast evolving resort area now with its own airport. The most popular beach is Ao Nang which is also where most of the action is. It has a good range of accommodation, restaurants, bars and shops. Apart from the usual pastimes related to the beach, it offers great opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking and sailing. For scuba divers, there are many companies which provide trips to nearby diving sites.
